Most of think of Jesus Christ as portrayed in the media, as a mild mannered and even-tempered man. But this was not true. Jesus hated! But what did Jesus hate?
Jesus hated SIN!
Hebrews 1:9 (KJV) “Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.”
Jesus also had more love in His heart for people than anyone who ever lived. Yet by the same token, He also had more hatred for sin than anyone who ever lived.
We must then recognize that is said in Romans 3:23 (KJV) “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
The goodness in people is directly connected with their detestation of disobedience; he/she who loves truth must hate every false and sinful way.
Jesus did something about sin for all of us! He died that it might die; He was buried that He might bury it in His grave; and He rose from the dead that He might forever crush it beneath His feet. Would we do the same? We are to strive to stop sin in its track and turn away from it!
Hate sin and Love Jesus! Hate sin but be very careful not to hate the sinner!
